From what I understand, that strain of Influenza A was the same H1N1 strain this one is (though that one was a "Spanish" flu, not a swine flu. Whether that matters, I don't know). It's a very nasty flu to get. One thing that was different was feeling under the weather for two weeks and then spending a week feeling like I was going to die. Most flu is over rather quickly. I worry about my grandmothers and other very elderly people. The rest of us will probably only wish it was fatal if we catch it. I remember the Swine Flu epidemic of the late 70's. Of course if this flu does start popping up all over the place this week though, you can expect the markets to get real scared.
