I do not think it wrong of me at all that I knew immediately what a “glaive glaive glaive guisiarme glaive”* is. Let’s just say that if a certain game of Jeopardy! three years ago had included the category “Polearms”, I would be a wealthier man today.
Then again, if I were the bumper sticker type, this one would be on my car right now.
I’m just glad I don’t live in Britain where it’s difficult to tell if they’re pathetically nannyish or prudently concerned about a looming Samurai menace. This, though, is nannyish without question. Who has ever in their lives been menaced by a Morris Dancer?
