Is CNN Censoring? Signs Say Yes.
Is CNN engaged in censorship? Patterico says they are and I’m inclined to agree. CNN is getting millions of dollars of free publicity from the thousands of videos full of copyrighted content that it allws to exist on YouTube. The company can hardly gripe about one video excerpt, even if it’s really embarassing.
You take the bad with the good. Copyright laws are not bludgeons.
Ron Coleman, a lawyer I trust, says this one is “a kind of censorship” and notes a strong “fair use” case on the part of the blogger who posted the censored video.
