I’d Say I Detect a Trend, But I Don’t Want to Be a “Rightwing Extremist”

| April 20, 2009 | Comments (5)

Do you remember the heady days of, oh I don’t know, six months ago, when “dissent was the highest form of patriotism”?

I miss those days, don’t you? These days, dissent is “unhealthy” and if you dare to question your betters, you are guilty of “politicization” (a word that only a stone-dumb career politician can use as an imprecation).

If you are a veteran, it’s even worse for you because, according to Napolitano, you are sorely in need of “educational opportunities”, otherwise you will be easy prey for rightwing extremist groups.

It’s enough to make a body wonder if, just maybe, the leaders of the Democratic Party has just the teensiest bit of contempt for the average American.

But I’d never think that. Why, that would make me one of Napolitano’s “rightwing extremists”!

I love it when extremists point out the obvious!

Yes. They look down on us as people who need the direction of government. As if.

Thank you, Mr. Obama, but you can take that stimulus check and stick it where the first lady licks it.

    Did you take the poll?

Did you read The Anchoress' latest about the Afganhi taxi driver?

Can I stop asking questions now?

You know what amazes me? They're right about the military – they take an oath to support the Constitution, and they intend to destroy it. So…you'd think that recognizing that the military – both active and inactive – have the potential to be the decision maker in any real showdown, they seem to be deliberately alienating them. Now I do understand that Obama intends to get his civilian security force up and running with a pledge of loyalty to him personally, but assuming he's going to attract liberals who at least theoretically are anti gun nuts…how is he going to get these people up to an ability to resist a trained military? even if they're acting as civilians? Who's going to train them?

There is no doubt in my mind that he intends to destroy the military – maybe this is part of that effort…but is this really smart?
