Blogging Behind the Green Door
Hot Air has launched a new group blog called the Green Room and populated it with a few of their best commenters as well as some very, very good bloggers from elsewhere.
Two of those bloggers are also the best, hardest-working bloggers I know, William Jacobson and Stacy McCain.
This is a pretty slick move by Michelle, Allah, and Ed. They get a lot of new content for nothing (though the established bloggers will get a discernible traffic bump) and will generate a bit more traffic for Hot Air. How much new traffic depends on how much buzz the Green Room actually causes, or how many folks the commenters-turned-bloggers generate themselves.
It seems to be moderately successful for Jeff Goldstein, who set up the protein wisdom pub for his commenters a long while ago (so at least the Green Room stands on the shoulders of a giant). Perhaps it’ll be so for Hot Air. I hope so. We can always use another big-traffic blog that generally stays in the area of the conservative point of view (though Hot Air of late has sipped deeply from the lukewarm pablum of moderatism).
