I want to share with you the thoughts of Samuel Wurzelbacher — you know, "Joe the Plumber" —

Samuel, let me talk to you directly.

They can't speak for themselves, because they're no longer with us, Samuel.

So on behalf of them, Sam, let's see, you're not really a licensed plumber. You're not really a war correspondent. And your name isn't even really Joe.

Well, that guy wasn't made famous by John McCain and Sarah Palin. You were, Sam.

Actually, you do research very well. I'm impressed by that. That's why I read your blog.

Well you should spend some time in jail. That's the one aspect of your research that is lacking. And it's the one one point of my research that I really excel at. You should know that the conservative rants that may seem to be harmless thoughts really do inspire people to violence. And it is no joke.

The last time I was in jail, there was an ultra-conservative guy who was in there for scalping someone. And I'm not joking. The victim had claimed (rightly so) that we had mistreated the Native American people. So this guy cut off the portion of his skin that contained his hair, and he paraded around the trailer park holding the bloody scalp of his victim. Fortunately, the police came quickly and procured the scalp soon enough that it could be sewn back onto the victim. You can guess the prison nickname that this perpetrator received: The Barber. And he made it damn clear to everyone that he was only tying to protect society from liberal thought. So tell me how conservative writings are benign.

Fair enough, I guess I don't read him enough to have known that. But it's the one part of his name you never hear.

And I am okay with what he said. Conservatives are violent people. I know that because I've been in jail. I live in a place where liberals outnumber conservatives by 8 to 1. Yet the split is even in jail. Liberals are mostly in jail for and drug and alcohol offenses, and conservatives are mostly in jail for assault and murder. But it's mostly beating their wives, which conservatives don't consider to be a crime.
