I simply cannot believe that the Republican party can’t run someone who can beat Reid. Surely some vapid showgirl off the strip would be more appealing to voters than that hack.

Actually, the other senator from Nevada, Republican John Ensign, ran against Reid and almost beat him last time. Obviously Ensign won’t be running against Reid again in 2010 because he has since occupied the other seat, but I think a viable contender will be found to kick Reid off his throne.
The thing is, since becoming majority leader Reid has had more of a national platform to showcase his idiocy. Did you hear about this? I’m not sure that Nevadans are going to want to continue to be embarrassed by this guy.
I say run anyone you possibly can against him. showgirls, houseplants, cast members of CSI. Anyone!
If the GOP can’t get its act together to knock off Reid, I’d be hard-pressed to think of a reason to keep the leadership around. Any of them.
