By your measure, not even Ron Paul, with his 500 million dollars in earmarks, can do that.

And "conservatives" and "Republicans" are not synonymous. They never have been.

You're assuming that the 'conservatives' (Republicans) care about free markets at all. They might try to prevent a couple billion in spending here or there or give fake 'tax cuts' without cutting spending, but they want state control over the economy just like the Democrats do. No current Republican other than Ron Paul can criticize Obama with a shred of credibility, which is why they won't until we elect new ones.
