Later this morning, the President, still smarting from having to actually answer a couple non-softball questions from the normally docile MSM, will hie himself to the friendly confines of the White House where he’ll answer some fan mail.

Most of the questions I’ve seen are either mash notes with a question mark at the end or variations on “When can I expect all the stuff you promised to give me?”, but there are a few that qualify as insightful. Katie Favazza found one that presses the President a little bit on one of his broken promises and thinks we have a chance to push it to the top of the list.

I appreciate the efforts of the administration to fix the economy quickly. However, why aren’t you giving the American public the chance to review these bills? In your campaign, you promised we would have at least 5 days.

Of course, we haven’t had five days. We haven’t had even one day. In the case of the 1,200 billion-dollar Vote-Buying Act, no one got a chance to read it before it was voted on — not us, Congress, or the President. The President got a lot of his support because he promised to bring unprecedented transparency to the office. He promised to be exactly the opposite of the caricature the left has created of George Bush — the secrecy-loving, rights-trampling, devourer of all things Constitutional. He’s been anything but what he promised.

It’s about time we held him responsible for his promises. His “five day” promise is a good place to start.

You have about about half-hour to vote on the questions and the broadcast goes live at 11:30 AM.
