My fellow blogger and Twitter bud Biased Girl asks, “Who the Hell Cares What Meghan McCain thinks?”.
Well, obviously the MSM does because she’s drawing coverage from the Politico. Why they’re giving her such coverage I can’t tell you except to say that in MediaLand, being a celebrity means a whole lot more than experience or insight (c.f. Joe the Plumber’s star turn at CPAC).
Meghan McCain is cute, blonde, and outspoken. So is Paris Hilton. At least Paris put some skin in the game to earn her media coverage. We know there’s one thing that Paris can do well. I don’t know what one thing Meghan McCain does well. I do know that she’s been able to turn the rare access granted her by her father into a bunch of mediocre blog posts.
Her best accomplishment thus far has been to recognize that being a chip off the old Maverick will always get noticed by media outlets which will always find room for a Republican who will easily attack conservatives. That pretty much makes her David Frum with a nice backside.
UPDATE: Jesse Taylor considers be a big ol’ meany stuck in the 50′s because I apparently attacked McCain because she’s a BBW and used the word “caboose”. Of course this post was posted before Meghan’s latest turn into victimhood as you yourself can verify by noting the date right at the top of the post. Sorry, Jesse. You owe me a retraction.
And I used the word “caboose” because I endeavor to keep this blog PG-rated. My Mom and Dad, both good Christians, occasionally stop by and I’d rather not subject them to curse words. Some folks still actually care about that kind of stuff.
