Our Ill-Mannered President Just Embarrassed Us All (UPDATED: It’s Worse Than That…)
I’m sorry, I barely have words for what a churlish maneuver this was.
I’m as embarrassed now as I would be had I gone out to dinner with a friend and enjoyed great meal served by someone who took really good care of me, only to watch my friend drop some pocket change on the table as the only tip. I’ve had that happen, and I’ve actually gone back inside after my friend left, sought out my server, gave them a proper tip and apologized for my friend’s ill manners.
I feel like that after reading about my President’s boorish behavior. If I could afford it, I’d get something really nice for PM Brown and his family along with a note of apology. The President needs to make this right.

UPDATE 2: The “gift” gets even more embarassing. I had heard that PM Brown wasn’t much of a movie fan. It turns out there’s a pretty good reason: he’s been blind in his left eye since he was 16 and he has been steadily losing sight in his right eye. he’s had a cataract removed from that eye once already and he lives with the very present possibly of going completely blind.
And our President gave him a bunch of movies on DVD.
Either our President is arrogant beyond measure or he just purposefully insulted the Prime Minister of one of our closest and most durable allies.
