Look Over There To See What Can Happen Here
My friend Andrew Ian Dodge has a brief book review of Dr. Eammon Butler’s The Rotten State of Britain that’s worth your time today. What’s happening in Britain today is what could very well happen in America in just a few years if we’re not willing to dig in our heels now against the totalitarian push from our President and the Democrats who run Congress.
Here’s a little tidbit to think about from his post:
The British bureaucracy was once capably run by experienced civil servants, but now there are party apparatchiks who have taken to meddling in the hopes of ensuring that every government activity meets with the Labor plan for Britain.
As our bureaucracy gets bigger and takes more control, we should ask ourselves who the bureaucrats really work for. In theory, they work for us. In reality, though, they work for themselves and that will continue to be true so long as the bureaucracy is large enough to insulate them from their real employers. A bigger government will be less responsive to you because you have less power over government than the people who have dug themselves in like ticks, the better to suck your wallet dry.
