Surprise: Yet Another Obama Nominee Played Fast and Loose with the Law
I guess that the third time is the charm for President Obama. He’s nominated former Washington Governor Gary Locke to be his Commerce Secretary.
Locke has gained a name for himself as an expert on China due to his work in a law firm that’s done quite a lot of work there. I don’t know about that, but it certainly does appear that he’s an expert on taking campaign contributions from Chinese criminals and monks who could barely remember donating thousands of dollars to him and who weren’t American citizens.
Basically, he’s the stereotypical Obama nominee – a political hack beholden to a pet Democratic interest group who has interesting ideas on which laws he needs to follow.
You won’t find this in the alleged Newspaper of Record, though. they don’t seem any more interested in vetting the President’s nominees than they did in vetting the President during the campaign.
