When the Left Gets Wind of This, They’re Going to Plotz!
President Obama’s Department of Unicorns and Rainbows have struck again! In just one month, they turned Chimpy McBushHitlerBurton’s amusement park of demonic sadism and sadistic torment we knew at Guantanamo Bay into a safe and humane place that complies with the Geneva Conventions.
The man just keeps on tossing out miracles like a Mardi Gras float tosses out strands of beads.
If I didn’t know better, I’d say that the ground has now been nicely cleared for the Mother of All Rowbacks. I’m sure it’s a complete coincidence that every time he looks at how his predecessor has dealt with unlawful combatants, he’s decided that George W. Bush just might have been on to something.

Imagine that! Once the Dems became "In Charge" all those campaign promises become "Just Words…" Hey Ma..pop me some more popcorn..this is getting interesting.
Will you ever learn? The left will whine a bit and then reorient. Gitmo was a stick to beat their domestic opponents with. Nothing more.
The left is always focused on opportunities to increase their domestic power and controlling the culture, aka change. This is why the left wanted to lose the Iraq war. Their whole approach to the war on terror (or this recession) only makes sense once you understand that.
Never take them at their word. Remember how the fate of the Vietnamese – like the Iraqis – became irrelevant once they had served their purpose. And concerns about the "shredding of the constitution" are gone now that the right people are doing it.
I'm not even sure what you're talking about. There are some very serious problems with shutting down Gitmo. The Khmer Rouge had a very simple solution: kill anyone who was tortured. That was actually pretty smart. Anyone you torture will become your enemy. Even if they were your ally to start with. So now we have a bunch of people who hate us because we tortured them. Obama faces a real problem. Most of these people are innocent, but they now hate us with a passion that only torture could give them. You can't let these people free because they will obviously fight against us. The only logical way to deal with these people is to kill them, but that's not really humane is it? If it were me, I'd just kill them. But a president can't do that. We created monsters with our torture techniques. We cannot release such people now. So put them in Leavenworth. They'll be safe there. Or put them in the Supermax facility in Colorado. We have the Unabomber there, and he can't get out. And he's way smarter than you or me. If he can't get out, nobody can. The Gitmo people are far less intelligent and far less dangerous than the Unabomber. So would it be dangerous to put them there? It certainly wouldn't be more dangerous than the more dangerous criminals that are already held there.
So, Jimmie, explain to me why less dangerous criminals are more dangerous than more dangerous criminals. You have the special math to do such things, so bring it out.
I'd note one thing. The Unabomber has one hour every day to communicate with people. If these Gitmo people came into contact with the Unabomber, he could give them advice. Such a person could never give that advice to the outside world because outside contact is forbidden. But such a person might be able to create the kind of trouble within the prison that the Unabomber can already create. Except that the Unabomber will never give up all of his secrets. He will always be the most dangerous prisoner. And he's already in our system, so why would anyone else be more dangerous?
"And he’s way smarter than you or me."
Understand this: Ted is probably the smartest man on this planet. He's a really evil guy, but he's much smarter than the guys who put him in jail. His papers at Harvard were way beyond anything I could come up with. And I can come up with thoughts that would make your head spin. Ted is the smartest guy in his Supermax facility, but he's also smarter than anyone outside the facility. If he ever got loose, nobody could stop him. He only got caught because his brother knew who he was. But the next time, it will be different. That's why Ted needs to be kept in a federal prison until he dies. But the beautiful thing is this: we have prisons that can contain the smartest people in the world. Even they can't get out. So why should we be concerned about some jihadists? Those Islamic jihadists aren't even as good as the Tamil separatists. The Tamils invented all of the modern terrorist strategies. And Sri Lankan authorities are on the verge of destroying them completely. It's really too bad that Christians are so bad at anti- terrorism. Maybe you should ask the Buddhists. We're good at this kind of thing. The most dangerous terrorist force in history is about to go down. And it took a Buddhist country to do it. So tell me again how Christianity means something. When Christians can take down a smaller terrorist organization like Al Qeada, I'll give them the smaller credit they deserve.

And you haven't thus far because….???

Well excerpt for the "small" little problem dealing with entering the U.S. court system I agree.
However, if you think for one hot second they would be "safe" there you, as Grandma used to say, you're off your rocker.
They wouldn't last 5 minutes during their first exposure to the general population. They'd be dead and just as quick the ACLU and various and sundry other loonbats would be in a tizzy claiming their "right" were violated.
Yeah, you do have to overlook the chaos of putting them into the criminal court system, which isn't made to handle their cases in any way at all.
The real problem is the likelihood of their radicalizing other prisoners.
