You see what happens when conservatives dig in their heels? We don’t get tax cheats in the Federal Government.
So Tom Daschle won’t be the Secretary of Health and Human Services, but he’s still in the mix to coordinate the President’s efforts to socialize our health care system. He’s far more dangerous in that role than he could ever be at HHS.
Daschle’s news is especially good because he wasn’t the first Obama nominee who withdrew today because they didn’t pay their taxes. His would-be “Chief Performance Officer”, Nancy Killefer, pulled her own nomination because she didn’t bother to pay taxes on a nanny who worked for her.
I bet that if Senate Republicans had grown a backbone, we wouldn’t have a tax fraud running the IRS right now. Let that be a lesson. When conservatives stand on conservatives principles, they win.
