I heard a saying one time that said you should never tick off a guy who has a lot of time to think. That’s pretty good advice when you think about it. See, once you get that guy’s undivided attention, he’ll spend a good chunk of that thinking time figuring ways to make you look like an absolute idiot.
It’s turning out that Rush Limbaugh is one of those guys. President Obama jumped into Rush’s stuff and he’s spent the past two days making the President look very foolish.
Limbaugh’s latest volley is a stroke of genius, so far as I’m concerned. He’s has taken the President up on his offer of bipartisan cooperation and has offered a compromise stimulus bill. The nut of the suggestion is this:
Fifty-three percent of American voters voted for Barack Obama; 46% voted for John McCain, and 1% voted for wackos. Give that 1% to President Obama. Let’s say the vote was 54% to 46%. As a way to bring the country together and at the same time determine the most effective way to deal with recessions, under the Obama-Limbaugh Stimulus Plan of 2009: 54% of the $900 billion — $486 billion — will be spent on infrastructure and pork as defined by Mr. Obama and the Democrats; 46% — $414 billion — will be directed toward tax cuts, as determined by me.Then we compare. We see which stimulus actually works. This is bipartisanship! It would satisfy the American people’s wishes, as polls currently note; and it would also serve as a measurable test as to which approach best stimulates job growth.
Now the President is in a box. By calling Limbaugh out, he’s acknowledged him as a leader and, in significant ways, an equal. He has to address Limbaugh’s proposal in some way. My guess is that he’ll toss out a small fussilade of babble that will placate the MSM but won’t actually say anything. It’s what he’s been doing thus far to address the serious concerns people have about his vote-buying scheme.
His only problem is that Limbaugh won’t let him alone until he gets a real answer. Rush has hours and hours of show prep time to figure out ways to keep the pressure on the President and I don’t see any reason he should slack off until he gets the answer he wants.

Obama was elected; Libaugh was not. Minor difference,
The PIMP is a cagey fellow. Going after a private citizen who dares to speak the truth? How long before the Left-leaning hate groups like ACORN start running TV ad’s against Rush?
The Democrats party symbol is the male version of a Jenny. This party is just showing their true color’s.
Okay. So what?
Obama seems to believe that Limbaugh is the spokesman for the Republican party, so I’d say the difference is trivial. I suppose that’s Jimmie’s point, too, though he said it with more brevity.
