GOP Senators Again Demonstrate Why They’re in the Minority
It’s getting really close to pitchforks and torches time for conservative-minded folks who believe that Cabinet members shouldn’t have a history of handing out pardons to avowed killers based on their political value or to criminals willing to give a ton of money to the right politician.
The Senate Judicial Committee passed AG nominee Eric Holder to the man body of the Senate for an approval vote on a 17-2 vote. The only Republicans voting against Holder were John Cornyn (who apparently grew a spine after approving the incompetent cheat Tim Geithner) and tom Coburn. The committee approved Holder even though he evaded their questions and walked the very fine edge of lying to their faces.
As Michelle Malkin puts it, the Republicans are confirming the time-honored government policy of “Screw up, move up”. They’re certainly not making a very strong case that they need to be in charge. We can get one of those water-drinking desk birds to press the “yes” button for the Democrats. What we need in Congress are men and women who will only approve competent nominees who will put the concerns of those they serve above their own. Eric Holder is neither of those and he should not have gotten out of committee unscathed. There’s a reason that the GOP is in the minority in the Senate right now. Votes like this remind America that if they have to choose between corrupt and weak, they’ll vote corrupt every time.
Here are the six Republican Senators who apparently believe that pardoning terrorists to increase your own political profile and rewarding political corruption doesn’t disqualify you from being the chief law enforcement officer of the United States
Arlen Specter (PA)
Orrin G. Hatch (UT)
Charles E. Grassley (IA)
Jon Kyl (AZ)
Jeff Sessions (AL)
Lindsey Graham (SC)
Three of those names shuoldn’t surprise anyone. But three others probably will. Thin ice, guys. You’re all on very thin ice. Sorry Senator Sessions, that means you, too.
If GOP Senators can’t cast one lousy vote against corruption, selfishness, and incompetence, then they should be working in a place where lack of courage doesn’t really matter. I hear that Burger King is hiring and they reward their employees for giving customers everything they want.

I'm surprised at Sessions. The others, not so much. It seems the repubs may be growing a spine over the so-called stimulus package, why couldn't they show the same courage over Holder and Geithner.?
I am thoroughly disgusted that my own Senator Kyl voted Holder through. Time to send a letter to his office!
"If GOP Senators can’t cast one lousy vote against corruption, selfishness, and incompetence, then they should be working in a place where lack of courage doesn’t really matter." I think this applies to several years worth of them voting as spineless Senators.I am so ready for us (Conservatives) to finally STAND UP and kick their lousy butts out of there. It is going to be an uphill struggle, but by God I think we can do it. Thanks for what you do Jimmie! Take care and God bless!
