Karl Rove Gets My Back on Gitmo
Remember when I said that I didn’t believe that President Obama would close our prison at Guantanamo Bay? Yeah, you thought I had lost my mind, didn’t you? You thought ol’ Jimmie had gone right around the bend.
It’s okay. I knew vindication would come.
My man Karl Rove (I feel somewhat okay calling him that since we follow each other on Twitter and I’m reasonably confident he won’t send a team of ninjas after me) said the very same thing at the University of Miami this weekend.
Rove knows both the political lay of the land and the legal and security issues involved about as well as anyone in this country. I feel a lot more confident in my prediction now that he’s affirmed it.
Though it would have been cool if he had prefaced his remarks with “Jimmie was right, people”.
