Okay, So It Wasn’t Camelot.
Yesterday’s coronation wasn’t quite the beginning of Camelot, Mark II we were told it would be. Ed Driscoll notes the many signs of domestic discontent, from a tanking stock market to a tanking Senators. It didn’t help matters that the ceremony featured a nigh-incoherent poet and a benediction that was half Jeremiah Wright and half Fred Sanford.
Still, we should certainly be happy that everyone made it home without incident. Props to the many police departments whose officers sacrificed leave and worked very long hours in uncomfortably-cold weather to keep everyone safe.
UPDATE: I guess the President’s next book won’t be “How Green was My Inauguration”.
