If you had to find someone who matched the destription of “new media mogul”, Andrew Breitbart would be near the top of every list. Not only did he co-found the Huffington Post (and wisely left it to the ever-expanding ego of Arianna Huffington) and contribute to the Druge Report, but he also runs Breitbart.com, which is one of the best news and blog aggregating sites available.
He’s launching a new venture called Big Hollywood. He describes the site as an attempt “to diversify Hollywood. Those people [in Hollywood] who dissent are so summarily attacked and dismissed that they learn to just keep their mouths shut. And there’s nothing I like more than to have debate free and open in America.” Part of his goal is to give conservatives a reason to care about what happens in the tnertainment industry, which is almost solely owned by the progressive left.
The reason I mention it is because Breitbart has asked my friend Michael van der Galien to contribute to the site. Michael has a very good view of how America is viewed abroad and sees our country with an unusually clear eye. He’ll be a fantastic addition (more so than the coterie of politicians that will be occasionally lobbing a half-hearted couple of paragraphs at the site) and I wish him every success.
