Why Chik-fil-A is Closed on Sundays and an Ode to Delicious Food
I admit, I’m in love with everything edible that issues forth from that magnificent eatery knows as Chik-fil-A. It is, quite simply, the finest fast-food restaurant in the known universe and the most scrumptious item on its menu is the sweet tea. No restaurant I have ever patronized gets sweet tea like Chik-fil-A does.
It thus warmed my heart to read this post which is full of praise for all things Chikin. I also understand her dilemma. Sunday is one of the few days where I’m free to pick up dinner out in the evening after church and I’d love to swing by my favorite restaurant and pick up some of their delicious nuggets with honey mustard sauce but I can’t because no Chik-fil-A anywhere in the country is open on Sundays.
The reason for that is the founder of the restaurant, S. Truett Cathy, is a devout Christian who insists that the chain’s stores stay closed on Sunday to honor God. I like that. It’s refreshing to see a successful businessman who puts his faith above his bank account. And only opening six days a week certainly hasn’t hurt the company.
Oh, did I mention that post I linked above has an original Ode to Chik-fil-A? It does and I’m rather proud that I inspired it. Go read it and bookmark her site. She’s a new blogger, but she has the knack and I think you’re going to like what you read there for some time to come.
