Time’s Person of the Year Is…Predictable.
The quote seen in the Politico is priceless.
President-elect Barack Obama has been named Time Magazine’s person of the year, “for having the confidence to sketch an ambitious future in a gloomy hour, and for showing the competence that makes Americans hopeful he might pull it off,”
You know, snake oil made lots of Americans hopeful, too and the guys who peddled it sketched all manner of ambitious futures for anyone who bought what they were selling. These days, dreams mean a lot more than reality and “hope” is our miracle cure.
