Word is that the steaming pile of folly called the Big Three Bailout is close to making its big appearance on the floor of Congress. We’re told that if bailout is defeated doesn’t happen, the world as we know it will end and we’ll all be eating cold dog food out of tin cans and greeting our new neighbors in the Tent Cities that will spring up as our economy goes toes-up. Of course we’re told this by the folks who take ginormous campaign contributions from the United Auto Workers and the Big Three Car Companies. They couldn’t possibly be influenced by all that cash, could they? Why Chris Dodd and Harry Reid are two of the sparkliest-clean legislators ever to sit in the hallowed halls of Washington!
And you shouldn’t be worried at all that Congress really wants to tell automakers what kind of cars they should build. They may stink as members of Congress, but that’s only because they’ve been spending all their free hours studying to be car makers and marketers. What could go wrong?
Oddly enough, the economy is still allegedly dying despite the financial-industry bailout that our government pinky-swore would work but hasn’t because our government is about as good at picking financial winners and losers as a blindfolded chimpanzee is at picking NFL games. It also doesn’t help that our government changes its plan about as often as a stripper changes outfits. You had better believe that this auto bailout will throw that industry into at least as much chaos as the financial bailout has throw our financial markets.
Fortunately there are some members of Congress who are ready to dig in their heels and try to do us all some real good. Senator Tom Coburn is ready to join a filibuster effort. So are his compatriots Jim DeMint, John Ensign, and Richard Shelby. I hope that Senator Mitch McConnell understand how important this fight is and doesn’t let himself get rolled by the corrupt Democratic Congress and their money men in the UAW.

God. This is like a horrible nightmare. What the hell has happened? I’m just stunned and speechless. I barely even watch the news anymore, it’s too damn depressing.
