The Grassroots Rebuilding Begins
Ed Morrissey writes today about the Ed Morrissey writes today about the Top Conservatives on Twitter website, known affectionately to its members as TCOT. TCOT is an effort to rebuild the Republican Party from the bottom up mainly using the social media, especially Twitter, to bring people together and organize them.
TCOT is just getting off the ground but already it boasts an impressive group of people. We (yes, I’m a member) have members of Congress, Republican state committee chairs and members, bloggers, and plain old citizens, all of whom share the broad principles of conservatism and want thsoe principles to return to political prominence. We’re divvying up the work so that no one person has to bear the whole load and making a lot of quality friends as well. The only requirement is that you’re a conservative and a member of Twitter.
TCOT has also been working pretty closely with Smart Girl Politics and both effots share many members, including me. If you are a conservative and have a little bit of web savvy about you, then TCOT is definitely your place. Go check it out.
