Senator Kennedy Again? Why?

I’m having a really tough time figuring this one out.

A Democrat who would know tells ABC News that New York governor David Paterson has talked to Caroline Kennedy about taking the seat, which was once held by her uncle, Robert F. Kennedy. It’s not exactly shocking that Paterson would reach out to one of the most highly respected public figures in New York, but this is: Sources say Kennedy is considering it, and has not ruled out coming to Washington to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate.

Caroline Kennedy is almost the opposite of politically-active. She’s not held an office; so far as I can see, she’s not even run for office. Every once in a while she’ll pop her head out and make an endorsement on the behalf of the ghost of Kennedys Past. Beyond that, she’s virtually invisible.

So what makes her such an attractive candidate to be a US Senator?

I think it’s her father. Barack Obama owes quite a lot to Ted Kennedy for his help during the campaign. The P-E doesn’t have a lot to give the ailing Senator because he doesn’t need nor want for anything political or material. He’s gotten about everything he could have ever wanted in his career. But a plum Senate seat for his daughter would be a nice little payback for a couple years of favors. Otherwise, what’s the advantage of putting someone with even less experience than the P-E in the Senate?

The Dems seem to have a desperate need to be governed by royalty (or perceived royalty anyway). I don't understand why they look for candidates with the same traits as movie actors & actresses. They want to live in a fairy tale.

Not royalty…the "elite". And guess who they consider to be "the elite"????

Kind of sounds like the old communism thing…we're all equal, but some of us are more equal than others…
