Let The Court Cases Go…
By Jimmie on Dec 5, 2008 in President Barack Obama
If the best argument you have against Barack Obama is that he hasn’t released his birth certificate, then you don’t have an argument at all. Even this guy, whose court case is at least being read by the Supreme Court, doesn’t have much of anything at all.
Seriously, folks. Put down the pet theories and let them go. John McCain lost and no number of lawsuits will ever change that. Besides, the Democrats are the party of the never-ending lawsuits and the sour grapes forever and ever. We on the right are better than that, or at least we ought to be.

I think you’re wrong on this. It isn’t sour grapes, it’s about a man who studied Constitutional Law and may be flagrantly ignoring it.
The questions raised are ones that should be answered – not just about Obama’s natural born status, but the issues of who the heck is responsible for determining who is or is not eligible for the presidency and why various Secretaries of State haven’t required proof of his natural born status by demanding an original vault birth certificate. At the moment, it seems that no one is until Congress itself decides to challenge his eligibility, and of course, that doesn’t happen until someone has already won the popular vote.

suek – I have a very hard time crediting Peter Berg, since he’s a hard-core Truther.
I think the suit before SCOTUS now is a real stretch of everything we know about Barack Obama. It simply looks crazy because the argument hinges on nudges and winks and stuff like “well, if you look at it this way”. I don’t see where it’s a good thing to press this issue.

There really is no good reason why he would not just provide the document & put this to rest. And worse, why….if everything he’s told us is true, why did he have it sealed? He’s for open & honest government, right? That’s what he says….

I know it sounds all turther-ish, but you have to admit, it does smell really fishy….

I know, and I could be completely wrong about it. I just get a definite Admiral Ackbar feeling about chasing this particular rabbit down the hole (”It’s a trap!”).
Obama can fight seemingly forever. He’s not spending his own money here and any time he wants, he can raise a lot more. The longer it goes on, the more he looks persecuted.

I understand your position…but even a broken clock, etc.
If I hadn’t been questioning the natural born thing even before the Berg suit, I might agree with you, but I had been aware of it, and wondering why no one was doing anything, _who_ _should_ be doing something, and how this requirement was supposed to be enforced.
I was thinking about this during the night, and have to tell you…it is very much like the Ayers situation in that you’re dealing with people who think the laws apply to _other_ people. It seems critical to me in that we are supposed to be a nation of _laws_, not a nation of _Whos_. When you have the person who is ultimately responsible for enforcing the law deliberately ignoring the application of the law to himself, you have the very basis for corruption.
If nothing else, it has provided a very good education in the corruption of the Dems, and how the laws work – or don’t work. Very interesting from the Constitutional and immigration laws as well.
And Obama’s personal history…we really don’t know much. Were you aware that neither of the hospitals where he was supposedly born have a record of his birth? The more you get into it, the more puzzling it becomes. I don’t know what the truth is, but Obama and his people have been very busy making sure that none of us ever _do_ know it, and that in itself is very intriguing.

That’s what get’s me. I know about the announcement in the paper and all that; and I realize 64 million people voted for him & our country may be worse off for knowing the truth. Fine. But that still doesn’t answer anything…something that could be so easily answered.
So, we already know all of the info that is supposed to be on the BC, right? And if everything he’s told us was true, why then does it seem to be such a problem with showing the stinking document? It’s not conspiracy thinking….if it wasn’t for the refusal to cooperate with the most basic of requests; proof of birth & proof of citizenship. (Both of which I have been required to show for every job I’ve had.) I wouldn’t be the slightest bit concerned.
