NFL Receiver Shoots Himself in the Leg and His Career in the Foot with the Same Bullet.
If you’re a professional football player nursing a hamstring injury that will keep you out for one of the most important games of the season, what do you do to get yourself back in playing trim?
Why, you shoot yourself in the thigh, that’s what!
Plaxico Burress, the New York Giants wide receiver who has spent this entire season demonstrating that he’s way more trouble than he’s worth, reportedly shot himself in the right leg Friday evening. The injuries are not life-threatening but they should be career-threatening. Plax has been a real head case all year. It’s not a good sign for him that notorious pothead Ricky Williams and famed malcontent Terrell Owens has garnered fewer headlines than Burress. If the Giants had any sense at all, they’d slap him on the Injured Reserve list, then waive him after the season is over.
