Get Black Friday Shopping Done at Home

| November 27, 2008 | Comments (3)

There really isn’t much of a need for you to join the free for all that is Black Friday at your local mall when you have the internet. Amazon has a bazillion deals today, and they’re rotating special offers through their Gold Box Deals. There’s a good chance that something you will want to buy will be coming around today, if it’s not already on sale.

If you’re looking to pick up some movies on the cheap, check out the big DVD sale, including Blu-Ray discs. I especially recommend “Black Adder – The Complete Collector’s Set”, the complete Fawlty Towers series, and Band of Brothers

So instead of getting yourself all worked up over the crowd and the traffic and the shopping carts rammed into your Achilles Tendon at high speed, hit Amazon a time or two today and see what’s on sale. I’m betting that you’ll find at least one good deal there.

Totally off-subject, but how about those Redskins? Gloating aside, the Skins did a great job of stopping Jacobs. No other team has done that yet. And the Skins stopped him the last time, too. Unfortunately, you have to stop both the run and the pass. It seems only the Browns can do that. Wait a minute, the Browns? What's up with that?

And how could you possibly resist the Plaxico Burress story? What a dumbass. Glad to see him go. Hixon can at least stay healthy, show up for practice, and catch passes. I guess that story was just too easy a target for you.

If the 'Skins could find something approximating a consistent offense, they'd be dangerous. A couple of sustained drives would have helped their defense a lot.

I don't see a team in the NFC that can consistenly play with the Giants right now. They get better every week. On the AFC side, Pittsburgh has the stuff as does Tennessee. After the Giants in the NFC, there are a bunch of runners-up.

I actually couldn't resist the Plax story. I amused myself with my headline, too!

I missed your Plaxico post. I'm sure it was good. You post quickly. As for the Giants, they are really scary right now. But as a Giants fan, I'm confident that they will screw this up somehow. So I'll enjoy it while it lasts. But, for now, they are the best Giants team I've ever seen. As for the Redskins, too bad they don't play in the NFC North. They'd certainly get to the playoffs from there. They are a damn good team, but they always seem to be missing one thing every game. This isn't their year, but next year could be very good. And, yes, an improvement on offense would really help their already great defense. The defense just needs a rest every now and then.
