but it makes me more than a little nervous that 52% of our voting population, who are supposedly more informed and enlightened than us, don’t ask these kind of questions.

I think a large portion of our population actually thinks it would be a good idea – having a "security force" to monitor & intervene in matters of fairness, justice and equality. Many are just uneducated in what that leads to and/or they have been pumped full of this silly notion that it is even possible to have a society that is free of insults, prejudice or any descrimination, real or imaginary. But whether they know what he meant by it or not, there really is no other explanation for them not even being the least bit curious…..

I'm beginning to think that we've gone schizophrenic when it comes to the President-elect. On one hand, we don't entirely take him at his word but on the other hand, we're willing to ascribe near-superhuman abilities to him.

For instance, I saw a recent poll that showed over 70 percent of Americans believe that Barack Obama can fix the economy.

I've seen that same excuse and it's the one that FactCheck.org used as well. The problem with that, as Treacher pointed out, is that no one could ever mistake the Peace Corps for a "security force".

It usually comes down to the lefties insisting he was only talking about an expanded Peace Corps. OK, so why doesn't he say "Peace Corps"? And why does the Peace Corps need to be "just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded" as the military?

I never get an answer to this because by now the lefty has been stumbling over himself in a desperate attempt to get away from where we are in the convo.
