Aren’t You Nice for Paying Keith Olbermann’s Salary?
By Jimmie on Nov 14, 2008 in Oh, THAT liberal media., The Economy and Your Money
It looks like one of Barack Obama’s biggest MSM boosters, Keith Olbermann, is going to be getting rich in part off of your tax money.
It appears that GE Capital will participate in the federal government’s debt-guarantee program, under which the government stands to back as much as $139 billion of the company’s debt through the middle of 2009. GE thereby becomes the first company with meaningful industrial operations to join Uncle Sam’s latest program.
GE Capital is owned by General Electric, which also owns Olbermann’s employer, MS-NBC.
Olbermann just signed an extended contract that will reportedly make him $7.5 million a year. I note that because the anti-American yap dog once scoffed snootily about corporate CEO’s salaries by noting that they made, on average, 470 times that of the average American worker. I suppose that a salary that’s only 149 times bigger , subsidized in part with tax money taken from American workers isn’t quite enough to make Olby’s conscience twitch.
