Okay, now I’m a little perturbed. Here I was looking forward to being able to write about Al Gore and Barack Obama working in the same house for the next four years, but Al has to go and ruin it by preemptively turning down the ‘Climate Czar’ position that hasn’t been invented yet.
President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team is flirting with creating a White House “Climate Czar,” but climate change crusader Al Gore says he doesn’t want the job.

“Former Vice President Gore does not intend to seek or accept any formal position in government,” Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said. “He feels very strong right now that the best thing for him to do is to build support for the bold changes that we have to make to solve the climate crisis.”
It’s also a lot more difficult for him to make tons and tons of money peddling his snake oil from inside the White House, but I’m sure that can’t be a consideration for him at all. Surely, though, some arrangement can be made. Maybe we can get him a regular radio address or his own web page or official government podcast or something.
Seriously, folks, I need this. I’m talking about pure blogging gold that’s just going to evaporate unless the Obama administration comes through. Who will think of the bloggers?
