This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. After acting as the unpaid propaganda wing of the Obama campaign, I imagine that the MSM was expecting to be treated pretty well come Inauguration Day by the President-Elect.
And they will be, if they come up with several thousand dollars apiece. Obama’s going to charge the media to cover his big party and the fees are…transformational.
A memo sent to news organizations on Tuesday by the Obama campaign says credentials will cost $715 to $1,815, depending on whether electrical and phone lines are needed and whether an indoor or outdoor seat is requested for the event, which is expected to be held outside the evening of Nov. 4 in Grant Park.
The only free admissions are for a “general media” area. But, the memo says, “Please note that the general media area is outdoors, unassigned and may have obstructed views . . . standing room only.”
The area also does not include access to top Obama campaign officials, whose statements likely are to be in hot demand on Election Night. They apparently will be available only in the “press file” tent, to which an additional admission fee of $935 per person is being imposed.I’m trying really hard to be a little sympathetic toward the MSM here. Bless their pea-picking hearts, they honestly believed Obama’s hope and change schticks. They wanted a “transformational” candidate so badly they could taste it. Instead, they got hustled by a guy who’s turning out to be just another shakedown artist from the corrupt Chicago political machine. I’d feel bad for the media, if they hadn’t gone out of their way to try to destroy Sarah Palin’s family and Joe Wurzelbacher because they dared stand in the way of their Chosen One’s ascent. So far as I’m concerned, any humiliation heaped on the heads of Obama’s Army of Wormtongues is fine with me.
Ed Morrissey has the mother of all posts about this. I laughed myself silly when I read it. I think you will, too.

And they should have seen this coming after the whole deal with selling the tickets to his “free” acceptance speech and for telling all the women news people who traveled with him on his Eurasia tour how to dress & how much makeup to wear (or not wear).
