Biden Says a Vote for Obama Means a Vote for Immediate Crisis but Our Faith Will Make It All Okay

Joe Biden really is a gold mine of fumbly-tongued inanity and ridiculous boastfulness. The good news is that, as the Vice Presidential nominee, he feels compelled to talk a lot. The bad news is that he could very well end up being Vice President if Barack Obama is elected which, as he says, will immediately thrust the United States into a crisis.

Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

In other words, The One is so inexperienced that world leaders are chomping at the bit to take a run at our rookie President. But we should just hang in there even if what he does appears to be supremely idiotic because he’s just going to figure it out somehow.

We don’t have any real evidence for this, but we’re supposed to just take the word of Joe Biden because, as he says “I’ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know, so I’m not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it”.

Yeah, Joe Biden, who was wrong about Iraq two or three times — who can keep track? — thinks he has it. What’s worse is that he likens Obama to Kennedy, a comparison that Obama himself had made also. What Biden didn’t say is that Kennedy’s foreign policy was an unmitigated disaster. His meetings with Nikita Khrushchev proved that he wasn’t ready for prime time and the Soviets reacted by building the Berlin Wall and pushing nuclear missiles toward Cuba. Later, Kennedy’s insecurity over his inexperience and his dersire to show the Soviets that he wasn’t the milquetoast that he had been in the Vienna meetings led us directly into Vietnam.
