Are You Sure Tax Liens are Important? Really Sure?

Okay, so Joe the Plumber has a couple tax liens. This is supposed to convince me that he is not a man to be trusted, since he’s obviously a tax cheat.

All right. Let’s say I accept that. What, then, should I make of a man who hires someone with tax liens against him and his companies (yes, that’s plural) as the treasurer of his company? Would you then say that he’s not to be trusted? Perhaps his judgement isn’t so hot?

Be careful when you answer. Depending on your political leaning, you may not like a href=”http://www.patterico.com/2008/10/16/la-times-joe-the-plumber-has-liens1/”>the answer even a little bit.

If Joe’s liens are a big deal then the trillions of our tax dollars, Barack Obama will.
