Fact-Checking the Angry Progressive Mob
For those bloggers on the left who have decided to root through his life and wave every bloody chunk of his life over their heads like deranged savages, here are a couple facts.
Fact One: Plumber Joe did not seek out Barack Obama. He was outside playing football with his son in his own yard when Barack Obama decided to do a little house-to-house canvassing. Barack went to him. He did not go to Barack.
Fact Two: Plumber Joe did not force Barack Obama to say that he wanted to “spread the wealth”. Obama said that all by himself in an answer to Joe’s question. Obama could have given one of the banal answers he’s given John McCain in any of the three debates. He didn’t. He decided to improvise and he handed McCain a potent political weapon.
Fact Three: Plumber Joe never claimed to make $250,000. He said that he was about to buy a business that could be worth that much that that he hoped, with his hard work, to make that much in the next few years.
As I write this, I realize that it probably doesn’t matter to any of them. Even if they knew the facts, I seriously doubt they would have acted differently. I certainly don’t expect any of them to apologize for their actions today.
The real reason for the rage has nothing at all to do with Joe Wurzelbacher, though. They’re really angry at Barack Obama, but are too chickens**t to say so.
Progressives are angry because Senator Government let slip that he’s nothing more than just another socialist. That’s not Joe Wurzelbacher’s fault. What we are seeing today is almost textbook fascist behavior, where an ordinary citizen who criticized a beloved political figure had his life ransacked in order to deter everyone else from speaking up. It is political intimidation by mob rule and reprehensible.
For almost eight years, progressives have been squealing about how President Bush and the American Taliban have been stifling free speech and taking away their civil rights. This, folks, is what that looks like. And it’s not President Bush doing it. It is the hypocritical left.
And you had better believe that we will see four more years of this if Barack Obama is elected. Bet your bottom dollar on it.

This was pretty much the "open mic moment" we knew / hoped was coming.
If there was anybody who was going to vote for Obama who took him at his word as a moderate their eyes should now be open. Obama's base has known what he's all about all along. The whole moderate act was wink wink nudge nudge for them. They make up a little less than half of the Dem party and about none of the independents.
