Joe Biden Smears John McCain over “race” and “terrorism”.
Ah, Joe Biden. Always the voice of reason and honesty, isn’t he?
Sen. Joe Biden said Monday that the tenor of the presidential campaign has gone “over the edge” and that if John McCain continues to push some lines of attack against Barack Obama he may regret it “for the rest of his life.”
Talking about recent charges leveled against Obama on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” Biden said, “I just think it’s unhealthy, you don’t throw race [and] terrorism” into the presidential campaign. “That’s a combustible mix in an environment where people are angry.”
This is nonsense on stilts. John McCain has not said a darned thing about Barack Obama’s race, overtly or otherwise. I’m willing to bet that there aren’t many people, Joe Biden included, who can tell you what race Barack Obama is.
But I agree with the Blowhard on one point. You don’t throw race and terrorism into the campaign capriciously. I encourage the Obama campaign to stop doing so immediately. They could start by having Joe Biden apologize to John McCain for smearing him.
Here is a fact: Barack Obama worked closely with an avowed domestic terrorist. That’s not a matter for honest dispute. William Ayers was responsible for killing innocent Americans and destroying much property in his days and he has been quite vocal in saying that he wished that he could do more.
What worries Biden most is that McCain will use Obama’s bloody-handed associates Wednesday night and his running-mate will have no answer. Whether he likes it or not, American voters still detest people who hate our country. Ayers, Dohrn, Wright, Pfleger, and all the rest of Barack Obama’s political friends despise our country and want it torn down so they can remake it to their liking. The more McCain’s campaign throws the name Ayers out there, the more scared Obama gets. Right now, you can almost smell his fear.
