The AP Lies for William Ayers

Un. Be. Lievable.

Here’s the headline to an AP story: “McCain TV ad raises Obama’s links to ex-radical”

Ex-radical? What, in AP’s opinion, makes William Ayers an ex-radical – that’s he’s not actively trying to blow up innocent people with nail bombs?

Bill Ayers has never once repented for his reprehensible and deadly past. In fact, he’s expressed regret that he couldn’t do more. He has worked for his entire life to destroy the fundamental pillars of our civil society. Here are a couple choice quotes from Ayers when he visited Hugo Chavez, Venezuela’s tyrant, just two years ago:

For instance, at a November 2006 education forum in Caracas, Venezuela, with President Hugo Chávez at his side, Ayers proclaimed his support for “the profound educational reforms under way here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chávez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution. . . . I look forward to seeing how you continue to overcome the failings of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane.” Ayers concluded his speech by declaring that “Venezuela is poised to offer the world a new model of education—a humanizing and revolutionary model whose twin missions are enlightenment and liberation,” and then, as in days of old, raised his fist and chanted: “Viva Presidente Chávez! Viva la Revolucion Bolivariana! Hasta la Victoria Siempre!”

Ayers education program, which Barack Obama has endorsed and helped to push, molds young teachers to “be aware of the social and moral universe we inhabit and . . . be a teacher capable of hope and struggle, outrage and action, a teacher teaching for social justice and liberation”.

Ayers edited a series of manuals for teachers instructing them how to push “social justice” on our children, including one called Teaching Science for Social Justice. Here is the aim of the book, from the book’s author:

“The marriages between capitalism and education and capitalism and science have created a foundation for science education that emphasizes corporate values at the expense of social justice and human dignity.” The alternative? “Science pedagogy framed around social justice concerns can become a medium to transform individuals, schools, communities, the environment, and science itself, in ways that promote equity and social justice. Creating a science education that is transformative implies not only how science is a political activity but also the ways in which students might see and use science and science education in ways transformative of the institutional and interpersonal power structures that play a role in their lives.”

Openly praising a Marxist dictator and trying to bring his educational system to our country isn’t radical? Teaching science as politics isn’t radical?

Bill Ayers isn’t an “ex-radical” and the Associated Press is lying. I found this information in 15 minutes. There is no way on Earth a professional journalist couldn’t have done the same.
