Make Dodd Testify
The Wall Street Journal today says that Congress needs to get Chris Dodd under oath about the sweetheart deals he got from Countrywide Mortgage and the influence they had on his dealings with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Countrywide’s biggest benefactors. It seems that someone has the good on him and the WSJ thinks it’s high time those goods became public.
Former Countrywide Financial loan officer Robert Feinberg says Mr. Dodd knowingly saved thousands of dollars on his refinancing of two properties in 2003 as part of a special program the California mortgage company had for the influential. He also says he has internal company documents that prove Mr. Dodd knew he was getting preferential treatment as a friend of Angelo Mozilo, Countrywide’s then-CEO.
I think that’s a marvelous idea. It won’t happen, of course, because Henry Waxman, the Democrat in charge of the hearings is a puffed-up jackanape more interested in making partisan political points than he is getting to the bottom of this mess in a transparent and public fashion.
Still, a guy can dream of Dodd and Barney Frank hauled in front of a hostile panel of questioners and tacked to the wall for their greed and mendacity, can’t he? I mean, Dodd sold out our entire economic system for “thousands of dollars”. I suppose that’s what inflation does to thirty pieces of silver, isn’t it?

and I'll give any odd that they will never stand before any committee and be reelected till they no longer can feed themselves. I can't say how happy I am to be living in Asia with a lovely wife and my check is sent to the bank on time.I do not claim to be smart…just lucky and I pity so many Americans that are so frustrated with the downhill spiral our nation has been put in by the lefty s…a damn shame Come to think of it Nobama,Frank,Schumer and Gore… are all Harvard Grads….does that say something.
