Bill Ayers? Awww…He’s a Pussycat and Barack Hardly Knows the Chap!
The campaign rhetoric has certainly heated up this weekend. Sarah Palin came out and scolded Barack Obama for “palling around with terrorists”, a charge the Obama campaign tried to rebut with a petulant whine.
For his part, Obama has done Karate Kid on the McCain campaign with some “political jujitsu”. He’s accusing John McCain of being ineffective in handling the mortgage crisis and counting on there being no reporting at all about how he brought nothing at all to the table, then fled Washington with a hasty “call me if you need me”. Why he feels the need to do that is beyond me since he has the MSM to cover his backside. The New York Times yesterday finally did its first story on the connections between Obama and murdering scumbag William Ayers and – surprise, surprise – found nothing at all. Oh sure, the Times said, Ayers and Obama crossed paths like ocean-going passenger ships in the night, but it was no big deal. Stanley Kurtz, who has done more investigative reporting into this story in a month than the Times has done in almost two years reduced the Times article to a pile of rubble in just one blog post. Andy McCarthy takes on Ayers’ “Shucky darn, everybody, I wasn’t tryin’ to kill nobody! I just wanted to shake up a couple buildings. Honest!” personality change and exposes it for a lie as well. I wonder how much it cost the Times to get that story written and if the Obama campaign is going to claim it as an in-kind contribution.
Robert McCain, who has a good round up of links on the story, says that in his experience, the hack job was the work of the editors and not the reporter. Either way, it’s a pretty egregious whitewash of well over a decade of close association between the Obamessiah and a man who unrepentantly despises this country.
