He tells him/her to send a message to xx, and the secretary does it. That might be by phone, by email, or by US Mail...but the president doesn't do it him/herself. The secretary probably even signs the president's name...can you imagine that? Why, I'm even old enough to remember when it was common for young women to take Gregg shorthand - you know, so a boss could dictate a letter, and the secretary would _type_ it! The boss didn't even know how to type...can you imagine that? The CEO of a _big_ company couldn't even type his own letters! How do you suppose such an incompetent managed!! And Kings in the days of yore...they didn't _do_ stuff either. They simply said "let it be done" and guess what...it got done!
