Jealous Ex-Pat Columnist Scolds America, But Really Really Loves England. Honest!
Oh woe! Oh doom!
How horrible of John McCain to choose an uneducated, backwoods rube to be Vice President!
Let me share a little something with you guys. If your faith in the United States is so shaky that Sarah Palin can completely unmoor it and leave you tearful and trembling, then you didn’t have much faith in America to begin with.
That sort of pap is especially tiresome from someone whose only connection with America is that she was born here.
I’m going to engage in a little armchair psychoanalysis of this columnist. Heck, if the left can do it nearly every post, than I can do it once without sullying my conscience. What galls this lady most is not anything she mentioned. It’s that she’s chosen to hitch her wagon to a country where Sarah Palin’s story would never, ever happen. Palins would have to spend decades working her way up the party ladder, doing favors and gladhanding a bunch of greybeards until she got somewhere near the top. Then she’d have to convince a few more party elites and the British media that she was suitable. If all that worked, then maybe she’d get to be the leader of her party. Maybe.
By that point she’d be completely stripped of her energy and verve. Any thought she had of reforming the rampant corruption in government would have been browbeaten out of her. There is no chance in the world that she would reach the top tiers of her party as the woman she is right now.
That secretly makes this columnist deeply ashamed. She sees Sarah Palin’s achievement and knows, deep in her bitter heart, that such success is impossible in staid, solid, boring Britain.
She may say her heart’s in England, but it sure looks like she wishes she could have a taste of what Sarah Palin has right now. Jealousy is so unbecoming.

That's the most brilliant sentence I've heard all week! Your new method of textual analysis– whereby all analysis of the text is strenuously avoided– is sure to be the next great leap forward in literary criticism circles!
No, really, why do you bother getting out of bed in the morning? Please consider putting yourself (and us) out of your (and our) misery very soon, won't you?
You actually agree with her on many things. See the links to her pieces in the respective papers at top right here:

Yeah I saw this earlier at Hot Air and read this ignorant twits article. Can I have that 5 minutes back? Like I give a furry fat rats ass what anyone in England thinks about this anyway. And I am 1/2 English BTW. Dad was in the Air Force and met my mom there. God I’m glad I didn’t have to be raised there.
Actually, he didn't say he was gonna analyze the text, he said he was gonna psychoanalyze her. Which can most certainly be done (probably better so) by reading BETWEEN the lines and putting them into context as well.
And as much as I enjoy having a devil's advocate to get the post-blog discussions going, if you really REALLY resent Jimmie's blogging, you are more than welcome to leave. He will keep posting and some of us are quite happy about it, so no need to make a stink.
Let’s do a little armchair psychoanalysis of a person who would make it a habit of reading blogs of people whose opinions he finds no value in and believes them to be a waste of everybody’s (including his own) precious time….
What would be the psychological malfunction of such a person who continues to wallow on such a miserable blog (presuming he doesn’t have some kind of computer virus that automatically directs his browser to the Sundries Shack every time he tries to visit any of the more supremely enlightened blogs like the Daily Kos)?
I read recently that Lady Margaret Thatcher was fairly senile. I hadn’t known that. Such a shame…she’d have _loved_ Sarah!
>>What would be the psychological malfunction of such a person who continues to wallow on such a miserable blog>>
I’ve wondered about this concerning a number of blogs I frequent. I’ve concluded that they are either mentally ill, or extreme partisan apostles, or paid.
