Gutless Gutman (UPDATE: Here’s Why He Hasn’t Been Canned by Obama)
By Jimmie on Sep 5, 2008 in Sarah Palin, The Obamessiah
This is Howard Gutman. He is a gutless smear-merchant. He works for Barack Obama.
I heard this world-class jerk on Laura Ingraham’s show this morning. He, a member of Barack Obama’s finance team, was pushing the meme that Sarah Palin’s a bad parent. He didn’t actually have the guts to say that outright. He just said that he thought a generic parent whose generic 17 year-old daughter was pregnant, should stay at home and tend to the generic crisis instead of running for generic high office.
Never mind that the only reason that this is a crisis is because Obama’s foot soldiers in the press are attacking this girl every single day. Never mind that he refused to make the same comparison to John Edwards, who was not only campaigning while his wife was fighting cancer but was also screwing another woman and likely fathering a child with her. Never mind that Bristol Palin has a loving fiancee with whom she is making wedding plans and doesn’t necessarily need her mother hovering over her as Gutman would have her do. Never mind that she gave her Mom the explicit go-ahead to accept John McCain’s offer even though she knew that moral midgets like Gutman would attack her and her mother.
I’m telling you, the progressive left just keeps finding ways to look even more desperate and disgusting.
What galled me the most about this bottom-feeding brute is that his entire schtick was to simply insinuate that Palin is doing something wrong. He lacked the courage to come right out and call her a negligent mother. Instead, he asked a hypothetical question about a hypothetical parent, kind of nudged and winked a lot, and insisted that it wasn’t “a gender issue”.
Here’s what I want to know. Barack Obama called off the hounds days ago. He said the candidate’s family was off-limits. Yet the nasty attacks continue. If he can’t rein in his own supporters, how can we believe that he’ll deal with Mad Mahmoud or Vladimir Putin or even the shadowy evil “special interests”?
If he wants us to believe he is a leader, he can start by showing some leadership right now and condemning Howard Gutman directly and by name. Every day these attacks continue show him to be nothing more than just another politician who talks a much bigger game than he can play.
UPDATE: Oh, this explains why Obama haasn’t ditched him yet. Gutman isn’t just a big-time money man for the Obama campaign, he’s also the lawyer who represented Susan Rosenberg, who was part of Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground terrorist group.
You might remember Bill Ayers as the guy who was sorry he couldn’t wreak more destruction and who hosted the fundraiser that launched Barack Obama’s political career. The two have been as tight as ticks for more than two decades and worked closely together for a foundation that spread money around to such groups as ACORN (the leftist group that is up to its eyeballs in voter fraud).
Gutman gets a pass because he’s tight with Obama’s terrorist friends. Okey-dokey.

Howard Gutman was the lawyer for Susan Rosenberg, a member of the Weather Underground convicted in the Brink’s robbery and slayings. Bill Clinton pardoned Rosenberg at the end of his Presidency.

I know Howard Gutman personally. He is a brilliant, honorable man working for his beliefs and the country he loves. He is devoted to his family and has made great sacrifices on their behalf. I disagree with his political affiliations, and have told him this, but I would never impugn the man’s sincerity or character.

Jo, I’ll impugn it. If he had an accusation to make, he should have made it instead of hinting around in the sleazy way he did. His appearance had nothign to do with hypothetical parents and a hypothetical pregnant girl
He made an arrogant assumption that he knows better for Bristol Palin than she and her own mother do then he summoned up some fake concern to cover a sleazy political attack.
He was amazingly insincere in Ingraham’s radio show and the smug nudging and winking demonstrated that his character isn’t so hot either.

I agree with Jo. If you’ve never been on one of these talk shows you don’t know how hard it is to talk spontantously and not say something stupid. I judge him on his whole life which has been devoted to his family and country, instead of a few moments on some radio show.

Howard Gutman made the most terrible insult towards men.
Why can’t fathers raise their children?
Is Howard Gutman saying that men are incapable of raising their children?
If so, how did Senator Biden raise his children by himself?
And most importantly, how did I raise my son by myself for the past ten years if men are so incapable of doing so.
I’m sure Mr. Palin is not going to stay in Alaska while his wife is living in Washington D. C.
I’m confident, Mr. Palin is going to do like REAL MEN do and support his spouse in her endeavors as REAL WOMEN do when their spouse’s wishes to endeavor in like activities.
I’m also confident that Mr. Palin is not only going to continue his role as a father in raising his children, but gladly assume total responsibility for raising his children as Senator Biden and I, myself have successfully done.

Gutman sounds like a typical Obama surrogate. They trash people and then the “empty suit” denies involvement.
Gutman sounds like a litte man with no class.

Mr. Gutman did not smear Palin by pointing out that she needs to spend more time with her kids and as VP the family or the position will get shorted on her time.

No, he smeared all women who have careers. Michelle Obama, for example.
And Proud Father is right - he also smeared all fathers who “continue (their) role as a father in raising (their) children, but gladly assume total responsibility for raising (their) children as Senator Biden and I, myself have successfully done.”
And the Dems once again are ignoring the fact that two parents are better than one.
