How good has Sarah Palin been for John McCain so far? Despite some of the most ridiculous attacks yet seen during a modern Presidential campaign, Palin has helped McCain close eight points in three days.

And the convention isn’t over yet.

Is Barack Obama in deep trouble? Is the progressive left scared out of what little mind it had after eight years of Bush Derangement Syndrome?

If you’ve been paying attention to the comments I’ve been getting the past two days, you know the answer to both questions.

I don’t put a huge amount of faith in pre-election polls and this is only one poll. But it is a CBS poll, not inclined to be favorable to Republicans and eight points is a lot. Politicians will work for a month to erase a deficit like that and the McCain/Palin combo did that in a tenth that time.
