Get Free Second Day Shipping from Amazon

| September 3, 2008 | Comments (3)

Amazon’s “Amazon Prime” program is one of those things I’ve noticed, but to which I never paid much attention. As it happens, if you are even a occasional customer, it’s a pretty good deal. Here’s how it works.

As a member, when you buy a qualifying item (and there are millions of them) you get them shipped Second-Day Air for free. You can upgrade to Next-Day Shipping for just $3.99. When you sign up, you get one month free. After that, it’s $79 per year, which will readily pay for itself come Christmastime.

My angle here is that for everyone who signs up, Amazon sends me $12. As with my ads here, you get something really good, for a good price, and I get part of the purchase price.

So, if you haunt the digital halls of Amazon, consider saving yourself some shipping costs and join Amazon Prime. I think you’ll like it.

I shop Amazon all the time but usually only buy stuff that offeres the SuperSaver shipping (which sometimes takes forever…I think they mail it slow on purpose). Do you know if the Prime accout includes everything that is normally SuperSavor?

Cheesestick (When are you going to get a cool "Obama" name like Sirack Obama?), so far as I know, the stuff that ships SuperSavier shipping also is covered by the Prime program. There have only been a few items I've seen (that weren't third-party sellers) that didn't have that little "this iten is eligible for Amazon Prime" tag above it. I've even seen it for big items.

And, as a side note. Isn't Amazon Prime a cool name for the leader of a bunch of female autobots?

Obama, Shmobama! I need to figure out a good Alaskan name after last night.

I was thinking about signing up for the Prime anyway because I do shop there so much. And like I said, they ship so darn slow when you pick the SuperSaver…I’m almost sure that is by design. But if I can get everything I order now in 2 days it would probably be worth it. Especially like you said…for Christmas.

I don’t know about the Prime female autobots….sounds like some SciFi fantasy of yours! Did you get my email about the post I goofed?
