Republicans might as well get used to the fact that John McCain is a Hispanderer of the highest order. Witness his new Spanish-only radio ad, wherein Johnny Mac promises to “stand up for immigrants”.
That, by the way, is code for “screw border security”. How do I know that? Here’s a bit of the ad:
When Hispanics needed a friend in Congress during the immigration debate… Who stood up? Who spoke out?
John McCain.
Senator McCain worked with Republicans and Democrats alike to form immigration legislation.
And while the bill didn’t pass, only McCain demonstrated a real commitment to reforming immigration in a way that honored our laws as well as our immigrants and traditions.
Except that he didn’t honor our laws because his proposed immigration legislation was chocked full of amnesty clauses that let lawbreakers escape punishment in lieu of a piddling fine and continued residence in the United States.
And let’s remember how vicious he and his shamnesty supporters were toward anyone who dared to insist that we secure the border to slow the flood of lawbreakers into the US. You think he’s willing to walk back on anything he said while he was pushing that legislation?
If you do, I have a bridge in New York City to sell you.
The fact is that, no matter what he’s said during the campaign, he has no intention on doing anything than what he’s always done on immigration. His actions have spoken a lot louder than his words and I’m still amazed at how many conservatives, who normally prize themselves on being keen observers of reality, have fallen for his lines.

Yep, that was the part that drove me away from my normal daily blog to yours actually….LOL. Once he became the nominee, things just got a little stupid real fast. And even worse were the McCain supporters, whose persuasive arguments generally consisted of “just shut-up and vote for McCain you f__-ing idiot”.
