Nancy Pelosi’s Energy Policy Reads Like A Bad Last Minute Term Paper
By Jimmie on Aug 7, 2008 in Our New Democratic Overlords, Thinking About Energy
Nancy Pelosi showed up online today for a little chat with the readers of the Washington Post to talk about her new book which I think has sold 14 copies to people not directly-related to Nancy Pelosi. Michelle Malkin suggested that folks ask her a couple simple questions.
Alas, those two questions didn’t show up. The chat was obviously set up well in advance and Pelosi very clearly got a look at the questions in enough time to have a whole bunch of answers cued up and ready to go. However, someone did manage to serve up a wounded duck of a question about domestic drilling. Well, it wasn’t quite about domestic drilling. It was, let’s say, a lot more puling.
Marietta, Georgia: Dear Madam Speaker,
Although this forum is primarily focused on your book, I cannot help but bring up an issue that is affecting each and every American. Why have the American people not seen energy legislation that lowers the price of gas?
Thank you
I’d be really interested to see the IP address of the person who sent that question because it simply stinks of “Democratic staffer”. But, regardless, she took that softball and wandered into a few bullet points that is either her energy policy or something your doctor might prescribe you if you haven’t laughed in a couple of years. Seriously, Pelosi’s so-called energy policy could make the Presidents on Mount Rushmore crack a smile.
I’ll give you a little example. These are her big ideas to increase our domestic supply of oil:
1. Free Our Oil
We can have immediate price relief at the pump. Freeing our oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve will bring down the price of oil in 10 days. President Bush refuses to take this step for immediate relief.
10 years or 10 days - the choice is clear.
…
5. Increase Our Energy Supply With Increased Use of Natural Gas - a cleaner energy source.
That’s her entire plan for increasing our supply of oil.
Folks, that’s no energy policy? That what a lazy college student would turn in because they got drunk the night before the paper was due and only had a half-hour to come up with something. It would get an “F” in any college class in the country and it fails as a real solution to our oil problems.
Nancy Pelosi needs to stop stumping for her abject failure of a book and get herself back to work. If she really wants to send a Message to Our Daughters, she can send the message that if you make a commitment to serve the American people, that’s what you’re going to do.

I cannot understand the obsession she has with the strategic oil reserve. Surely she understands the difference between price relief & a true catastrophic emergency, no?
Actually, I figure she probably does. She must be starting to realize that the only way she is going to be able to get the (Bush’s) economy to tank is to take matters into her own hands and actively seek to destroy it.
