McCain’s Hispandering Gambit Looks Like a Failure

| July 26, 2008 | Comments (1)

John McCain has gone out of his way to pander to the illegal-immigrant, separatist crowd on the theory that if he does that, then Hispanic voters will flock to him. See-dubya brilliantly calls it “Hispandering” (a term I just might borrow). It’s pretty much alienated him (HA!) from most of his base and more than a couple of rational independents. It’s also tied him pretty closely with people who are actively hostile to the entire notion of the United States of America.

So what has it bought him?

Nada.

Perhaps he should have read up on the story of Esau and Jacob before he tried to sell our sovereignty for a bowl of pottage.

And of course, that is what conservatives told him all along would happen. I'm kind of enjoying the fact that McCain is finally getting smacked up-side the head with a good dose of reality. I hope it knocks his lights out.
