Obama Chickens Out on Real Debate, Agrees to Friendly Interview
Ten days ago, the Obama campaign was simply far too busy to find a day in August to have a town hall-style debate with John McCain in Texas.
Suddenly, a day miraculously opened up. Of course, it’s not for a debate. It’s for a PR event where Rick Warren will interview both Obama and McCain separately in front of the congregation at Saddleback Church in California. The men will share the stage only in passing and there won’t be any follow-up questions from the audience or from the opposing candidate.
Funny how the time for that just opened up like that. What are the chances that he’d be available on the exact day that the guy who praised him effusively on CNN after inviting him to be a featured speaker at his AIDS conference wanted him to be there?
God Barack Obama really does work in mysterious ways.
