Ignore the Title. It’s Joss Whedon

Earlier this month, I wrote a bit about Joss Whedon’s new project Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. It went live with Act I on Tuesday and the demand was such that it crashed the site in about as long as it takes the average Firefly fan to respond correctly to the line “I am a leaf in the wind”.

He did some scrambling, got a ton more bandwidth and everything is fine and dandy now. Act II went up yesterday and Act II hits the net tomorrow. The three movies, all about 13 minutes long, will stay up, completely free, until July 20th. Then they come down until Whedon puts together the DVD, which ought to be worth every penny given his history.

I’ve seen Act I. It’s funny and a whole lot better than you’d expect from a Supervillain Musical. Neal Patrick Harris, as Dr. Horrible, carries the first couple of minutes all by himself. He’s good.

I have no way to tell if you’ll like it or not, but since it’s free and it’s only there for a limited time, why not check it out?

If you like it and you have iTunes, the subscription to all three parts is only $3.99. I went with that option, because I tend to get busy doing other things, like blogging about stuff I want to watch, instead of actually watching it.
