Obama is Grazed by Friendly Media Fire, Shrieks Like a Little Girl.

Well, if the intent of the New Yorker was to generate publicity, it certainly accomplished its task. The left is full of the sort of blustery indignation that would lead you to believe that they had never, ever savaged an opponent with “satire”. Even (or especially) MS-NBC is leaping off the rhetorical cliff with its condemnation. So are both campaigns.

I suppose I should join the Choir Obamical and condemn the artist for his scurrilous and not in any way fact-based piece of satire that does nothing but portray Barack and Michelle Obama in ways that a rational person could believe given what they’ve had to say about themselves and each other. So I shall, with about as much excitement as Willie Wonka when Augustus Gloop fell into the chocolate lake. The cartoonist should have known better than to satire anyone on the left; he works for the New Yorker after all. It’s not like he’s never met a progressive. Bad, stupid cartoonist. Let that be a lesson never to attempt to apply freedom of speech and artistic license to anyone you choose.

As for Barack Obama, I’d say he needs to man up. If a magazine cover that delivers only the most gentle of critical caricatures causes him to faint like a spinster aunt in a Bronte novel, his first real conversation with a hostile world leader is going to cause him to roll up like a pullbug. Compared to what the President, Dick Cheney, and any black Republican who dared to agree with George Bush have had to face in the past eight years, this is a loving caress. Barack Obama is a world-class wimp if he can’t handle the New Yorker.

Now where’s that whistle? I’m going to need the Oompah Loompas to get that cartoonist out from under the bus.

"Obama, shrugging incredulously, replied: “I have no response to that.” "

And that is somehow "shrieking like a little girl", he needs to "grow a pair", is a "world-class wimp".

I'm glad actual rational people will have a chance to repudiate you and your ilk in a big way this year.

  2. Jimmie says:

Did you happen to see the reaction from his campaign, by chance? They called it "tasteless and offensive" which is pretty harsh for something so…pastel.

It's the equivalent of jumping up on the kitchen table at seeing a pink rubber mouse. Yeah, I'd say he needs to get himself a little backbone. Or maybe a sense of humor.

Angry Flower, You apparently didn't read the comments from the Obama campaign that were linked in the article…and I think you have the future election results backwards. With a year of free MSM campaign stories for Barry Hussein masked as "news" and he can't even hold a lead on McCain?! In the world of politics sweetie, Hussein doesn't have a chance. Just wait until the Rev Hate commericals start in September and October.

I am loving that post title.

(Not that the whole post wasn't good, but the post is lol funny.)

  5. Jimmie says:

Thanks, Becky! Ihad to read your comment again, though. The first time through it looked like you said the whole post wasn't good and I got this simultaneous feeling of joy and puzzlement.

  6. Becky says:

but the post is lol funny

Ha! Title. That should be title.

In other words, I liked the whole post but I loved the title.

(I'm lost without an edit button because I just don't proof.)

  7. Becky says:

And as long as I'm here I should mention I've enjoyed several of your posts and was probably too lazy to ever stop and post about it.

  8. Jimmie says:

I'm glad you decided to leave a note, Becky. It makes me glad to know that folks think I"m worth their time and don't mind talking back to me, too.

Barack the Metro Man…jeez what a prissy little prick. I just hope he does not get the velvet stiletto by the Hillary before he gets his eyes scratched out.

    Who is John McCain…

Why I Will Not Vote for John McCain

    Phillip Butler | March 27, 2008

As some of you might know, John McCain is a long-time acquaintance of mine that goes way back to our time together at the U.S. Naval Academy and as Prisoners of War in Vietnam. He is a man I respect and admire in some ways. But there are a number of reasons why I will not vote for him for President of the United States.
